Privacy Policy

FieldGauge · iGears Technology Limited · July 22, 2026

FieldGauge (package org.igears.lightmeter) is an offline-first engineer toolkit. Measurement tools are designed to work without sending sensor data to the cloud. Optional ads may use the network when shown. An optional one-time Remove Ads purchase is available.

Information stored on your device

The app stores measurement logs, calibration preferences, settings, and purchase entitlement in private storage on your device. Sensor readings are processed on the device for the tools you use.

You can export logs as CSV under your control. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes locally stored information.

Camera and OCR

Camera access is requested only when you use the AI instrument reader or related capture features. OCR for meters, labels and nameplates runs on the device. Images are not uploaded to our servers for recognition.

Advertising

The free version may show ads through Google AdMob. Google may process advertising identifiers, approximate technical information, and ad interaction data under its privacy policy.

Where legally required, a consent message may be shown. You can remove ads with an optional one-time in-app purchase (org.igears.lightmeter.remove_ads).

Purchases and network use

Optional Remove Ads purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.

Core measurement tools work without an account and without sending sensor data to the cloud. Network access may be used for ad delivery, consent handling where required, and store purchases.

Accuracy notice

Phone sensors vary by model and are not certified instruments. Calibrate against a traceable reference before professional, regulatory or safety-critical use. Results are for reference only.

Children and your choices

FieldGauge is a general-audience engineering utility and is not directed specifically to children.

You may purchase Remove Ads, decline personalized ads where a consent message is shown, export or delete local logs, or uninstall the app to remove its locally stored data.
